Can terrestrial man become gods when they are not gods? (Jer. 16:20).

A brother from the Far East who has a lot of experience preaching to non-religious people explains: “Usually when someone here says they don't believe in God it means they don't believe that traditional gods should be worshiped. I usually tell him that I agree that most gods are not real, but are made by man. I usually read Jeremiah 16:20 to him and ask him how we can distinguish a true god from the gods that man has made. I listen carefully to their response and read Isaiah 41:23: 'Report on the things that are to come later, so that we know that you are gods.' Then I show you something that Jehovah predicted for the future. " Another brother explains: “I show you examples of the wisdom of the Bible, of prophecies that have been fulfilled, and of laws that govern the universe. Later, I help you see how all of this shows that there is a living and intelligent Creator. When the person accepts the possibility that God exists, then I begin to show him what the Bible says about Jehovah. w19.07 23, 24 pars. 14, 15

How can we help people who often avoid talking about God?

How can we reach the hearts of those who generally avoid talking about God? Addressing topics that sound familiar to you. For example, many are fascinated by nature. So maybe we could say: “Maybe you know that many inventions are the result of copying things that exist in nature. For example, those who design microphones study the ear and those who design cameras study the eye. What comes to mind when you think of nature? Do you think it is a wonderful force, a person or something else? " After listening carefully, we might add: “When engineers study the design of the eye and the ear, we may wonder who they are learning from. 

I found it very interesting that an ancient poet asked if he who created the ear cannot hear and if he who made the eye cannot see. Later, the poet added that the one who did these things is the one who imparts knowledge to the human being. Some scientists have come to the same conclusion ”(Ps. 94: 9, 10). How else can we start a conversation with someone who doesn't want to talk about God?

Most people want life to be better in the future. But many fear that the Earth will be destroyed or become uninhabitable. A traveling overseer from Norway says that those who don't want to talk about God are often willing to talk about world conditions. After greeting someone, you ask, “Do you think things will get better in the future? Who do you think it depends on? From politicians, from scientists or from someone else? After listening carefully, read or quote a text that talks about a wonderful future. Some are struck by the biblical promise that the earth will not be destroyed and that the good will live forever on it (Ps. 37:29; Eccl. 1: 4).
