Anyone who is proud of heart is something detestable to Jehovah (Prov. 16: 5).
The elders work hard to help the brothers. And they do not believe they are superior to others because of their authority, but they treat the congregation with tenderness (1 Thess. 2: 7, 8). His deep love and humility are reflected in the way he speaks to others. An experienced elder named Andrew says, “I have found that siblings generally react well when elders are kind and genuinely loving. These qualities motivate them to collaborate with the elderly ”. And Tony, who has also been an elder for many years, explains: “I try to follow the advice of Philippians 2: 3 and always strive to consider others to be superior to me. This helps me not to behave like a dictator ”. Elders should be humble, just like Jehovah. Although he is the Sovereign of the universe, he stoops to raise "the lowly one from the dust itself" (Ps. 18:35; 113: 6, 7). In fact, he hates arrogant people. w19.09 16-17 pars. 11, 12
Why is King David a good example for parents?
Jehovah appointed David not only head of his family, but of the entire nation of Israel. Since he was the king, he had a lot of power. But at times he misused it and made serious mistakes (2 Sam. 11:14, 15). Still, he showed that he was submitting to Jehovah by accepting his correction. He opened his heart to him in prayer and tried in every way to follow his guidance (Ps. 51: 1-4). Furthermore, he was humble enough to accept good advice from both men and women (1 Sam. 19:11, 12; 25:32, 33). She learned from her mistakes and focused her life on serving Jehovah.
What lessons can parents learn from David?
Let's look at some lessons that you parents can learn from King David. Do not misuse the authority that Jehovah has given you. Acknowledge your mistakes and accept the biblical advice that is given to you. If you do, your wife and children will respect you for your humility. Also, as you pray with them, open your hearts to Jehovah. In this way, his family will see how much they depend on him. And, above all else, center your life on serving God (Deut. 6: 6-9). Your good example is one of the most valuable gifts you can give your family.
What role has Jehovah given to mothers?
Jehovah has given mothers an important role within the family and some authority over their children. --Prov. 6:20. In fact, they can have a profound influence on them that lasts throughout their lives (Prov. 22: 6). Let's look at the lessons mothers can learn from Mary, the mother of Jesus.
What can mothers learn from Mary's example?
Mary knew the Scriptures very well. He had deep respect for Jehovah and a close friendship with him. She was willing to submit to his guidance even though it meant a total change in her life (Luke 1: 35-38, 46-55).
Let's look at some lessons that you mothers can learn from Mary's example. First, study the Bible and pray personally to maintain your friendship with Jehovah. Second, be willing to make changes in your life in order to please him. For example, their parents may easily lose their temper and speak harshly to their children. So you may have grown up thinking that this was the way to raise a family. Even after they have learned how Jehovah wants them to treat his children, they may find it difficult to remain calm and patient, especially when they are tired and they misbehave. - Eph. 4:31. This is when they most need to turn to Jehovah in prayer. A mother named Lydia says: “At times, I have had to pray with all my might not to speak harshly to my son when he disobeys me. I have even had to pause in the middle of a sentence and silently ask Jehovah for help. Thanks to prayer, I am able to remain calm ”(Psalm 37: 5).
