“Take Shelter in Jehovah's 'Everlasting Arms'” (10 min.)
Let's imagine this scene: Mom or dad go out with the child to a park to have fun for a moment. While they are there, the mother or father, either of them, notices that the child is in imminent danger and that they have not realized it. What are those parents doing?
They immediately run off trying to protect the boy, even though he may not have realized it. Parents are very careful in everything that surrounds the child. Something like that is Jehovah with his people. Therefore, in this part Treasures of the Bible, under the title: "We take refuge in the eternal arms of Jehovah."
We will see how he, through the centuries, has shown that he is pending to take care that his servants as a whole do not suffer harm. Of course, there are also some situations or requirements that are asked for one to be protected in said arms.
Thinking back to Israel's time, Jehovah always wanted to protect them as a father would run from anywhere to help his people, to take care of them, to protect them, to wrap them in his arms, so that nothing happens to them.

There is no one like the true God of Jeshurun, who rides across the sky to help you and who rides on the clouds in his majesty.
A term that stands out here, that draws attention is Jesurún. According to the book Insight, it is a title that was given to Israel and that meant "beloved." That title is repeated again in Isaiah 44: 2. The point here is that Jehovah loved his people and as the biblical text said, he could cross the sky to help them.
But what did Jehovah require? May his people be upright, may they conduct themselves in the proper manner. Like the scene of a child. If a father runs to protect his son, but he moves away from the father, he does not allow him to protect him without knowing what is happening, because the child will suffer consequences.
Today we, if we want to have Jehovah's protection, we must also meet the requirements of approaching him, seeking his protection from so many bad things that surround us today, and since we do not physically perceive Jehovah because he is a spirit.
However, he is willing to protect us not only himself, but use everything he has created to give that protection if he sees fit. But he demands, asks that we also do his will, that we are fulfilling the requirements as a son with his Father.
There is a sentimental relationship that unites them both and therefore, if the father wants to support him, take care of him, the son also has to give in to that protection. What is Jehovah willing to do to protect his people, each one of us?

God is a refuge from ancient times; his everlasting arms are under you. And he will drive out your enemies before you, and he will say: 'Annihilate them!'
Returning to the scene of a park and the child and the father, when he sees the danger he is running and what he does is immediately lift him up, protect him with his arms and sometimes even the parents are willing to put their body to bear the danger to which the child would be fighting so that he does not suffer any harm. Jehovah has shown the same when he sees that we feel troubled that brings us down. He treats us with affection.
Perhaps we do not perceive it, but there are actually situations in which Jehovah uses something, it can be a servant of the congregation, a sister, a student of the Bible or even a simple child who can tell us something really worthwhile.
I remember one occasion where a brother gave an excellent speech, but for the audience it was, but for the same brother it did not feel good. And when the meeting ended and the brother sat down to reflect on where the error was, that the speech was not as good as he wanted it to come out, a girl approaches him, sits next to him and says: brother, he did it very well.
These are words that Jehovah can convey in one way or another. He knows the emotional, physical situation in which we find ourselves and he can make us receive that encouragement, that arm, that affection. It is as if he puts his arms under us and lifts us up and supports us, clinging to his body, we feeling that love and appreciation.
So don't expect Jehovah to give a supernatural display for you to believe that he is helping. there are so many things that are sometimes simple and not even the intervention of a human being to receive the stimulus that we need so much.

Happy are you, oh Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by Jehovah, your protective shield and your majestic sword? Your enemies will crawl before you, and you will step on their backs. "
The scene presented here possibly had to do with what Israel experienced when the Egyptian army was about to take them as prey, about to trap them and smash them to pieces. And Jehovah demonstrated by opening the Red Sea, allowing them to pass to the other side. And then the Egyptians, as you see there, the sea covered them. And Jehovah showed them that he held them under his everlasting arms.
We too can feel that protection, just like Moses did. We must trust that Jehovah will save us. It is true, there may be times when we are prey to discouragement, bitterness, to think that perhaps we are alone. But it's not like that. Jehovah, at the precise moment, will intervene as he did with Israel. It did not help him before reaching the Red Sea. I did not help them before Pharaoh made the decision to pursue them again.
He helped them when they no longer had a way out, when they were facing the Red Sea and behind the Egyptian army. We must also perceive that this is what Jehovah can do, let us reach the limit, as the first letter to the Corinthians says, where we already think that we are no longer giving more. This is when we can feel the power of Jehovah. Let us be sure that he will sustain us during all the tests.
He is a loving God, like a Father who will put his body, so to speak, will put all his protection on us, defenseless beings like children, beings that we need, that protection we need, that affection from Jehovah, and he is willing to do it.
He knows when we are sick, when we are depressed, when we are distressed or when we have made a mistake that no one else knows but that we regret, he will do everything possible to show how much he loves us.
So let us continue to take refuge in the everlasting arms of Jehovah. Let's run into his arms and let him show us how much he loves us. And of course, let us strive to meet the requirements to keep ourselves in such arms forever.
