You yourself, O Jehovah, have helped me and comforted me (Ps. 86:17).

If we are distressed, we can regain strength by attending meetings. As we do, we give Jehovah more opportunities to help and comfort us. In them, he strengthens us through his holy spirit, his Word, and his servants. Furthermore, at meetings we can give and receive encouragement (Rom. 1:11, 12). A Christian woman named Sophia said: “Jehovah and the brothers helped me to move forward. Meetings were the most important thing to me. I have found that the more I preach and the more I do in the congregation, the easier it is for me to deal with difficulties and concerns. " When we are discouraged, let us remember that Jehovah not only promises to eliminate suffering forever in the future, but he also offers us his help now. He gives us the desire and strength to overcome discouragement and despair (Philippians 2:13 ). w19. 06 19 pars. 17, 18

Why is it comforting to reflect on how Jehovah helped Elijah?

Are we going through a distressing situation? Seeing that Jehovah understood Elijah's feelings encourages us. And it's reassuring to know that he also understands our emotional pain. He knows our limitations and even what we think and feel (Psalm 103:14; 139:3, 4). If we turn to Jehovah as Elijah did, he will help us face the difficulties that weigh us down. - Psalm 55:22.

How will Jehovah help us deal with problems?

Emotional stress can cause us to think negative thoughts and become discouraged. If this happens to us, let us remember that Jehovah will help us. Like? He invites us to share our concerns with him and assures us that he will respond to our appeals (Psalm 5:3; 1 Peter 5:7). So let's talk to him often about our problems. Although he does not address us directly as he did in Elijah's case, he will speak to us through his Word and his organization. The stories we read in the Bible will give us comfort and hope. And our brothers will also encourage us (Rom. 15:4; Heb. 10:24, 25).

How can a trusted friend help us?

Jehovah told Elijah to give Elisha part of his work. So he gave him a friend who could help him when he was very down. Likewise, if we have a trusted friend, he will help us when we are suffering (2 Kings 2:2; Prov 17:17). What if we think we don't have anyone to tell us about our problems? So let's ask Jehovah to help us find a mature Christian to encourage us when we need him.

a) What hope does Elijah give us? b) How does the promise we read at Isaiah 40:28, 29 help us?

Jehovah helped Elijah deal with stress and faithfully serve him for many years. What happened to this prophet gives us hope. We can go through moments of great anguish that drain us physically and emotionally. But if we trust in Jehovah, he will give us the strength to continue serving him. - Read Isaiah 40:28, 29.
