Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021

By wisdom a house is built and by discernment it is made firm (Prov. 24: 3).
On one occasion, David's men needed help and asked a wealthy Israelite named Nabal for some food. They felt free to do so because they had protected their herds in the desert. But Nabal was selfish and didn't want to give them anything. This enraged David, who set out to kill Nabal and all the men in his household (1 Sam. 25: 3-13, 22). Then Nabal's beautiful wife, Abigail, intervened. This sensible woman showed great courage, as she went to meet David, fell at his feet and asked him not to take justice into his hand and make himself guilty of blood. He tactfully advised him to leave the matter up to Jehovah. Her humble words and wise actions moved David and made him see that Jehovah had sent her (1 Sam. 25: 23-28, 32-34). Abigail had cultivated qualities that made her useful to Jehovah. Similarly, Jehovah can use tactful and discerning Christian women to strengthen his family and congregation. - Titus 2: 3-5. w19.10 23 par. 10
As 1 Timothy 4:12, 15 indicates, what should young people ask of Jehovah?
Are you a young man approaching adulthood? It takes the help of energetic men who accept responsibility and are ministerial servants. In many congregations, there are more elders than ministerial servants. Could you cultivate a desire to do more in the congregation? Sometimes some brothers say, "I'm happy just being a publisher." If you feel this way, ask Jehovah to help you develop the desire to become a ministerial servant and to give you the strength to do all you can in his service. --Eccl. 12: 1. We need your help (read 1 Timothy 4:12, 15).
What should we ask of Jehovah, and why?
Jehovah can make us what he needs to do his will. For this reason, let us ask him to grant us the desire to work for him and then ask him for the strength to do so. Young or old, let us use our time, energy, abilities and possessions to honor Jehovah now. --Eccl. 9:10. Let us never miss precious opportunities to do our best in your service because of fear or feelings of inadequacy. Whether we do a lot or a little, we all have the great honor of giving our loving Father the honor he deserves.
