I received a thorn in the flesh (2 Cor. 12: 7).
The apostle Paul meant that he was suffering because of a personal trial. He called her "an angel of Satan," who kept slapping him (or hitting him, according to the note). It may be that Satan and his demons had not nailed that thorn in him, that is, they had not caused his anguish. But, when those evil spirits saw that Paul had that "thorn", perhaps they tried to drive it further into him, so to speak, to cause him more suffering. What did the apostle do? At first, Paul wanted to get rid of the "thorn." He said, "I begged the Lord [Jehovah] three times to take it away from me." Despite his pleas, the thorn in the flesh did not disappear. Does this mean that Jehovah did not answer their prayers? Of course not. He did answer them. Although it did not take away the problem, it gave him the strength to bear it. And he said: "My power is fully demonstrated in weakness" (2 Cor. 12: 8, 9). Thanks to divine help, Paul was able to stay happy and at peace (Philippians 4: 4-7). w19.11 9 pars. Four. Five
a) Why do we say that “the wind is blowing” in our meetings? b) What can we do to attend the meetings with “the sails unfurled”?
Second, let's worship God with his servants (Ps. 22:22). In a sense, we can say that in our meetings “the wind is blowing,” since Jehovah's spirit is in them (Rev. 2:29). Why do we say it? Because when we meet, we pray for the holy spirit, we sing songs based on the Word of God, and we listen to biblical instruction presented by brothers who have been appointed by holy spirit. And this same spirit helps the sisters to prepare and present their demonstrations. Now, if we want to fully benefit from this spirit, we have to go to meetings prepared to participate. In this way, we will attend them with "the sails unfurled".
How do we get the holy spirit to help us in preaching?
Third, let's go out and preach. When we read from the Bible in our preaching and teaching work, we let the spirit help us in ministry (Rom. 15:18, 19). But we need to go out and preach regularly and use the Bible whenever possible to get the most out of that spirit. What is the most direct way to get holy spirit?
Fourth, let us pray to Jehovah (Matt. 7: 7-11; Luke 11:13). The most direct way to get holy spirit is by asking Jehovah for it in prayer. Nothing — not the walls of a prison nor Satan himself — can prevent our prayers from reaching Jehovah or the gift of holy spirit from reaching us (James 1:17). How should we pray to fully benefit from the holy spirit? To answer this question, let's take a closer look at the topic of prayer by examining an example found only in the Gospel of Luke. *
