Let's make sure of the most important things (Philip. 1:10).
Today it costs a lot to earn a living. Lots of siblings work from dawn to dusk to simply provide the basics for their family. Many others spend several hours going to their place of employment and returning home. There are those who earn their living with exhausting physical work. At the end of the day, these brothers are so tired that the last thing they want to do is start studying. The truth is that we must take time to study the Word of God and Christian publications, but really study. Our friendship with Jehovah and eternal life depend on it. --1 Tim. 4:15. Some siblings get up early every day to study when the house is quiet and their minds are fresh after a night's rest. Others spend a few minutes at the end of the day to study and meditate in a quiet environment. w19.05 26 pars. 1, 2
What should we study carefully?
What should we prioritize? Clearly, we have to spend time every day studying God's Word. Currently, the weekly Bible reading program for the congregation is shorter. This way we have more time to meditate and seek additional information. Our goal should not be just to read the assigned chapters, but to allow the message of the Bible to touch our hearts and draw us closer to Jehovah (Ps. 19:14).
What else should we study carefully? Of course, we must prepare the study article for The Watchtower, as well as the Congregation Bible Study and the rest of the weekday meeting. We should also read all the issues of The Watchtower and Awake!
Should we be discouraged if we cannot keep up with everything that appears on our website and on JW Broadcasting?
But someone might say, “What do I do with everything that appears on our website and on the JW Broadcasting channel? Because it is a lot of information ... ”. Let's think about the following example. A wide variety of delicious dishes is offered at a buffet. Customers won't be able to try all of them, so pick a few. Similarly, let us not be discouraged if we fail to keep up with everything that is published electronically. Let's read and see what we can. Now, what does studying entail, and how can we get the most out of studying?
