Gideon was discreet so as not to anger his adversaries unnecessarily. As we preach the good news, let us be careful not to offend by the way we speak. The organization has exhorted us to apply the golden rule in our ministry, we avoid invading people's privacy, if we go through a bad time we apologize, and if someone is busy and does not want to listen to us, we respect their decision.

We could notice that Gideon was very discreet when facing his opponent, this teaches us that when we bring the good news we must be careful with our way of speaking since we do not want to offend anyone but rather to attract people to the truth .

We, in the same way, when preaching the good news, our way of speaking should not show an air of superiority or offend people by not accepting our message. On the contrary, we must respect the opinions of our interlocutors, highlight what we agree on and focus on the positive aspects of the message.

Judges 6: 1. Judges 6: 6. Judges 6:11. In biblical times, farmers used to thresh the grain in an open area so that the wind would blow the chaff away. Judges 7:17. Judges 7: 20-21. It was important that Gideon and his 300 men act as "one alone and as a team", for that they had to break 300 vases, raise 300 torches, blow 300 horns and 300 voices they had to shout in the middle of the night calm. These actions had a devastating effect on the Midianites. This teaches me: that, likewise, today, all of Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide are "one and we act as a team" to program "the Celestial Kingdom of God." The result of acting together is that many come to see our message as a devastating danger because they have their life "estranged from God."
Judges 6: 25-27. J ehová asked Gideon to do something very difficult, that: tear down the altar of Baal his father, and then use this sacred post as firewood to submit a burnt offering. This teaches me: that no matter how difficult it may be, all people who want to serve and worship God in the right way must break away from all idolatrous practices that Jehovah hates. Judges 7: 9-11,13,14. Gideon was a man of faith, but like any human being he was afraid, so Jehovah told him to go to the enemy's camp, there "he heard a man relate a dream in favor of Israel." This strengthened Gideon and he realized that Jehovah was supporting him. This teaches me: that in a similar way today, Christians have faith, but in this hostile and hateful world we live in, it is normal for us to be afraid to fulfill our Christian ministry. But Jehovah tells us to "listen to his word in the Bible" to strengthen us and to realize that we have his "divine support."
Judges 7: 2. Jehovah knows that human beings tend to presume or give too much importance to achievements or successes that we achieve, although sometimes we have not obtained it on our own merits. That is why he told Gideon "that he had too many men", although in reality they were few compared to the enemy army. This teaches me: Jehovah does not like presumptuous people. In reality, no human has anything to boast about, for everything we possess is solely due to Jehovah's loving-kindness. So let's avoid being presumptuous and admit that the credit for all we accomplish is due to Jehovah.
Judges 6: 36-40. Gideon wanted to make sure that Jehovah would be with him for that, he proposed a test: "that of the woolly fleece." This teaches me: that we can imitate Gideon's attitude and make sure that what we do in our daily lives has Jehovah's support. For this we must investigate what the Bible says and strive to adhere to its rules and laws. Christians know that to ensure an eternal future, our lives must revolve around doing God's will, so this must be the most important goal in our lives. Judges 6:23, 24. Judges 7:1-3. Jehovah told Gideon that he was going to reduce the number of his army from 22,000 to 10,000 men to fight against the Midianites and their army, this was not done to make Gideon's men fear, but because Jehovah wanted to show them that he would give the victory to Gideon and his men, and he did not want them to believe that they had defeated the Midianites by their own strength, but should recognize that the victory was thanks to divine intervention.
Judges 7: 6,7. Jehovah then directed Gideon to take the remaining 10,000 men where there was water for testing. Three hundred men licked the water they caught in the hollow of their hands, while the rest knelt on the shore to drink, so that it was discarded. Those who drank by licking from his hand showed by their drinking that they were attentive, concerned about the coming struggle for true worship and in support of Jehovah's name. Jehovah promised that he would save Israel with this tiny contingent, 300 men.
Judges 7:19, 20. Gideon's account is encouraging, demonstrating that Jehovah can deliver his people from any danger, even by using those who appear to be weak or defenseless. That Gideon and his 300 men annihilated 135,000 Midianites testifies to the infinite power of God. We may find ourselves in desperate situations and our enemies may seem to outnumber us. However, the biblical account of Gideon encourages us to trust in Jehovah, as he will bless and save all who exercise faith in him
Judges 7:22. It says that Gideon and his men continued to chase their enemies until they were completely defeated, we too find ourselves in a difficult and exhausting battle, some of us have been in this fight for decades and, therefore, sometimes we could feel tired from so much fighting and waiting so much. for the end of this wicked world to come, but let's remember that Jesus said that only those who endured would win.
