PUBLISHER: Good morning. My name is Alberto, are you okay?
HOUSEHOLDER: Good morning. The truth is that not much. It's all this issue of the pandemic, it's causing me a lot of problems at home.
PUBLISHER: I understand, we are all suffering in one way or another, it is not easy to live these days, but better days will come... What is it called?
HOUSEHOLDER: My name is Juan. I hope that better times come, because I am already at the limit.
PUBLISHER: I understand. God promises us a better future because he cares about each one of us.
HOUSEHOLDER: Excuse me, but there is no God. If he existed, this wouldn't be happening… wasn't he a good God who wants the best for us?
PUBLISHER: And so it is. He is so good to us that notice what he says in Matthew 10:29-31: “Two sparrows are sold for a small coin, are they not? However, not one of them falls to the ground without their Father knowing about it. But in your case, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.” God has counted our hairs, to that extent he cares about us.
HOUSEHOLDER: Well, in my case I don't think he knows how many I have, because he doesn't care much about me.
PUBLISHER: Have you ever read the Bible?
HOUSEHOLDER: The truth is that no.
PUBLISHER: The Bible, you know that God has left it to us, right?
HOUSEHOLDER: Yes, that's what they say.
PUBLISHER: The Bible is a book unlike any other, written thousands of years ago by writers inspired by what God wanted to be written for us and is still used today, do you know why it is still used? today?
HOUSEHOLDER: Why?
PUBLISHER: Because it contains a lot of advice that helps us with current problems. In addition to future prophecies and promises that God has made to us. And others that are being fulfilled right now.
HOUSEHOLDER: Yes? But that is very symbolic and each one interprets it in their own way...
PUBLISHER: It may seem that way and I understand that. Let's give an example, in relation to the text we read... didn't our parents give us advice when we were young?
HOUSEHOLDER: Yes.
PUBLISHER: And you always interpreted it the way your father wanted?
HOUSEHOLDER: That's where you caught me... when I was young, possibly not, later I began to understand him better and I started paying more attention to his advice...
PUBLISHER: Very good. Well, the same thing happens in a way with our heavenly Father, God. He gives us advice because as a father he wants the best for us, but if we don't listen, or do what we want or don't get close to our father, would it be of much use?
HOUSEHOLDER: Well, no.
PUBLISHER: So, it's clear that if we don't get closer to God, we study his word in the Bible and we know the advice he gives us... and most importantly, we put it into practice... it won't do much for them to be written there, right?
HOUSEHOLDER: Yes, it's logical... I've never read it, maybe I'm a bit guilty about that.
PUBLISHER: To better understand our heavenly Father, we have to know him and that is achieved by reading the Bible... do you want us to talk another day about how specifically does God help us cope with our problems?
