APLPLY YOUR SELFTO THE FIELD MINISTRY: February 28 to March 6, 2022, Speech, Lesson 19, Prepared Assignment.

Address (5 mins.): w15 4/15 6-7 ¶7 16-20. Title: How to train others well (th lesson 19).

On a certain occasion I heard a person, a father of a family, and he said to his son; do what I say, but not what I do, what would you say, is he a good father? Of course he is not a good example, much less can we say that this person was training his son to be a good person.

Without a doubt, the topic of this speech helps us to see if we are being like that person we mentioned at the beginning. The topic is how to train others well and for this we are going to use the example of Samuel. Samuel was leading the people, he was judging but it happened that on a certain occasion, because the elders of Israel met with Samuel in Rome and told him to appoint a king to be judged.

Samuel saw it in a bad way so Jehovah told him to do what the elders of Israel had asked him to do, this meant that Samuel had to train someone else to do what he was doing of judging people like this did. job.

At first Samuel saw it badly, because Jehovah judged Israel and we know that this did not please him because as the text of 1 Samuel 8:7 says in this case, it says Jehovah answered him, do everything that the people have told you because They haven't rejected you, it's me they don't want as king.

So when the elders train other brothers, they must explain good qualities, for example, in First Peter 5:2, which I invite you to read, it says shepherd the flock of God that is in your care serving as overseer and listen to what he says no do it out of obligation, but willingly before God, nor do it for the love of dishonest gain but with determination.

Then, the elders must treat the brothers who train them with kindness, keeping in mind that just as they treat these brothers, these future brothers who are being trained will display the same qualities that the elder is showing them. On that occasion you should also not see these people or these brothers as competitors, as someone who is going to supplant them.

Rather, according to 2 Corinthians 1:24, it is mentioned there, I am not saying that we are masters of your faith, because you are firm in your faith, but that we are and listen to what he says later, collaborators so that you are happy , then a brother who becomes an elder is not going to be another collaborator to help the congregation so that the brothers faithfully serve Jehovah.

There is something else that we must take into account when training another person, for example if we do a little history, because when Samuel in this case went to train the future king who was Saul, he did not do it in a hurry in order to finish said work that Jehovah had entrusted to him, it is said that when Samuel saw Saul, they ate together, took a walk, talked long and hard, rested enough and after doing all that Samuel decided in this case to anoint him to be as king.

This is a point that the elders should keep in mind when training a brother, it should not be lightly, they should take the time to get to know the brother more than perhaps they already know him in his congregation. What is their spirituality like, but they have to get to know him thoroughly and for a person to get to know another, well, they should become their friend and perhaps we can do what Samuel did, eat together, walk for a while, talk at length, this help to

So we can say that the old man, who is a good teacher, is someone who likes to prepare the brothers but not only with his teacher skills but also becomes fond of them so as long as we are close or we are his friends we can see the skills that he has brother to help others.

So far, well, we have already prepared the way to begin training the brother, so we do not want to be like this or this person that we mentioned at the beginning, what did he say? Do what I say, but not what I do, so we do not want to tell the brother to be loving, if we do not show these qualities towards the brothers.

And remember elderly brothers that just as we are and if we train another brother, the brother will follow the same example that we gave him. Let us remember that we are training ourselves not for ourselves, it is so that they help the brothers and show Jehovah that we are very good shepherds and that we can train other brothers to continue fulfilling this faithful work with love.
