Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Saturday May 7, 2022

No one can come to me unless the Father draws him (John 6:44).

We have a treasure that is not seen: to collaborate with Jehovah and the heavenly part of his organization (2 Cor. 6:1). We count on his support every time we participate in the work of making disciples. Speaking of himself and other evangelizers, Paul said, “We are fellow workers with God” (1 Cor. 3:9). When we participate in Christian ministry, we also collaborate with Jesus. Recall that after commanding his followers to “make disciples of people of all nations,” Jesus told them: “I will be with you” (Matt. 28:19, 20). And what about the angels? We are very grateful that the angels guide us as we go announcing “everlasting good news . . . to those who live on earth” (Rev. 14:6). What is being achieved with such support? When we sow the Kingdom message, some seeds fall into receptive hearts and sprout (Matt. 13: 18, 23). Who makes these seeds sprout and bear fruit? Jesus explains it in today's text. w20.05 30 paras. 14, 15

a) According to Proverbs 15:8, how does Jehovah view our prayers? b) How does he answer them?

Another invisible treasure is prayer. Good friends like to exchange ideas and express their feelings. The same goes for our friendship with Jehovah. He speaks to us through his Word, and in it he makes known to us his thoughts and feelings. And we communicate with him through prayer. As we pray, we can share our deepest thoughts and feelings with Him. For Jehovah, listening to our prayers is a pleasure (read Proverbs 15:8). He is a friend who loves us, and therefore, in addition to listening to prayers, he answers them. Sometimes we get the answer quickly. But other times we have to keep praying. Be that as it may, we can be sure that he will respond to us at the right time and in the best way. Of course, his answer may not be what we expect. For example, instead of getting rid of a test,

How can we show gratitude for the gift of prayer?

How can we show gratitude for the precious gift of prayer? For example, following this advice from God: “Pray constantly” (1 Thess. 5:17). Jehovah does not force us to pray. Rather, he respects our freedom of choice and asks us to “continue in prayer” (Rom. 12:12). So we can show our gratitude by praying many times during the day. Of course, when we pray, let us not forget to thank and praise him (Ps. 145:2, 3).

a) How does a brother named Chris view prayer? b) How do you see prayer?

The longer we have been serving Jehovah and seeing how he answers our prayers, the more appreciation we should have for prayer. Consider what Chris, a brother who has been serving full time for 47 years, said: “I love getting up early and spending some time quietly praying to Jehovah. It is wonderful to talk with him while the first rays of the sun are reflected in the dew drops. When I do this, it makes me want to thank Jehovah for all his gifts, not forgetting the honor of praying. And at the end of the day, after saying a prayer, it's nice to go to sleep with a clear conscience”.
