Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Friday June 3, 2022

I'm glad I have weaknesses. Because, when I am weak, then I am powerful (2 Cor. 12:10).

What about those who are bedridden or in a wheelchair, have weak knees or can't see well? Can you run with those who are young and healthy? Of course. Many older brothers and others with frail health participate in the race for life, but they do not do it with their own strength, but with those that Jehovah gives them. They listen to meetings on the phone or watch them online. They share in the work of making disciples by witnessing to family members, doctors, and nurses. Let us never let physical limitations discourage us and make us think that we cannot keep running on the path that leads to life. Jehovah loves us because we have faith in him and because of our record of faithful service. It is in these circumstances that we need him most, and he will not leave us (Ps. 9:10). Unlike, will be closer to us. w20.04 29, 30 paras. 16, 17

What must we do in order not to be a hindrance to others?

If we do not want to be a hindrance to our fellow racers, we must also compromise when possible and not insist on our rights (Rom. 14:13, 19-21; 1 Cor. 8:9, 13). This is very different from what happens in a literal race. Runners compete against each other, and everyone strives to be the only winner. They usually never think of others. So maybe they will try to break through to get to the head of the race. Instead, we do not compete against our brothers (Gal. 5:26; 6:4). Our goal is to help everyone we can to cross the finish line with us and get the prize of life. So we strive to follow Paul's inspired counsel to seek not only our own interests, “but also those of others” (Phil. 2:4).

What do brokers focus on, and why?

In addition to always looking ahead, runners focus on the finish line. Even if they can't literally see it, they can imagine the moment they walk through it and receive the prize. This keeps them motivated.

What does Jehovah guarantee us for love?

Out of love, Jehovah guarantees us that all who finish the race will win the prize of eternal life, whether in heaven or in Paradise on earth. The Bible gives us details that allow us to glimpse what this prize will be like. So we can imagine the wonderful life that awaits us. The more we focus on this hope, the more determined we will be to avoid the pitfalls that could prevent us from finishing the race.
