Speech (5 mins.): km 1/15 2 paras. 1-3. Title: Learn from Skillful Publishers (th lec. 13).
We Christians have to continue to improve as evangelizers. For this reason, Jesus prepared his disciples and helped them better fulfill their commission to preach, Aquila and Priscilla did the same when they took Apollos with them to explain "with greater accuracy the way of God"
Paul also motivated Timothy who had been preaching for a long time to continue striving to be a better teacher, we can read this in 1 Timothy 4:13-15, this shows us that no matter how long we have been preaching, we have to continue polishing our skills.
One way to improve our skills is by looking at how others do it, when we go out to preach, let's pay close attention while our partner makes his presentation. Also, let's ask skillful publishers for advice and listen carefully to what they recommend.
Do we find it difficult to make return visits, start Bible studies, or participate in some other facet of ministry? Well, let's talk to the group overseer or another experienced publisher for help. Let us also remember that the holy spirit can make us more skillful. So let us ask for it constantly in our prayers.
Let us not be offended if they give us advice, even if we have not asked for it. Ecclesiastes 7:9 can help us in that, let us be humble and grateful, like Apollos, and accept all the help they give us. That is the wisest way to act.
