Watchtower Study, Revelation's Message for You Today, July 4-10, 2022, Comments and Responses.
1, 2. What is one reason why we should be interested in the book of Revelation?
The book of Revelation is like a photo that can attract our attention, First, because it was written for us, the servants of God. So we are not surprised to learn that we are participating in the fulfillment of his fascinating prophecies.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
First, because it was written for us, the servants of God. And we are participating in the fulfillment of his fascinating prophecies.
Right at the beginning it says a revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave him to show his slaves the things that have to happen shortly, so this book is not addressed to everyone but to us, the servants of God, that is why it is not we are amazed that we are participating in the fulfillment of these prophecies.
It is interesting for us because we are in that photo but it draws a lot of attention and when comparing it with Revelation that we are also present because we are participating in these fascinating prophecies.
3, 4. According to the book of Revelation, when would its prophecies be fulfilled, and how should that affect us?
They would be fulfilled on the day of the Lord, this day began in 1914. Because we live in this day we must read aloud the words of this prophecy, hear them and obey them.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The second reason has to do with the period of time that occurs during "the day of the Lord", that day began in 1914, so we are living in "the day of the Lord". Surely we need to read aloud “the words of this prophecy,” hear them, and obey them.
Yes, well, according to the book of Revelation, it says that these things at the beginning are indicated that they would be on the day of the Lord, now when John wrote these things they would be around the year 96, he meant that there was still a long time to go, but since 1914 we have been living in the day of the Lord, therefore these tests show that very soon all these promises of the book of Revelation will be fulfilled.
Yes, we are living in this exciting time that is for all of us and in reality we must keep it very present because according to what Revelation 1:3 says, happy is the one who reads the words of this prophecy aloud and happy are those who hear and obey the things written in them as the appointed time is near, then the advice given to us here is that we should hear it and then obey it.
MAKE SURE JEHOVAH ACCEPTS YOUR WORSHIP
5. How does the book of Revelation show that it is very important to make sure that Jehovah accepts our worship?
In the first chapters of the book of Revelation it shows that Jesus was aware of what was happening in the congregations of Asia Minor. He gave specific advice to improve their worship of him. This is a clear indication that we must follow his advice to have Jehovah's approval.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jesus is very aware of everything that happens in the congregations, such as when he spoke about the seven congregations in Asia Minor where he gave specific advice that would help first-century Christians to ensure that Jehovah accepted their worship. Jesus Christ knows very well how our spiritual health is. He guides and protects us, and not a single detail escapes him. He knows what we have to do in order not to lose Jehovah's approval.
That our Leader, Jesus Christ, knows very well how our spiritual health is. He guides us and protects us, and he doesn't miss a single detail. He knows what we have to do in order not to lose Jehovah's approval.
From Revelation 1 from the beginning of this book, Jehovah sends a message to the 7 congregations of Asia Minor so that each of them will ensure that they have Jehovah's acceptance and the number 7 is repeated a lot in this book, which is a number complete, and he means that it not only concerns those congregations but all the congregations that exist today, and he also said that they are in his right hand which means that he has control of all the congregations today.
6. a) According to Revelation 2:3, 4, what problem did the Christians in Ephesus have?
Although they had endured and served Jehovah without getting tired despite the difficulties, they had lost the love they had at the beginning.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The Christians in Ephesus indicated that they had endured and served Jehovah tirelessly despite hardships, but had lost the love they had at first. They had to rekindle that love if they wanted Jehovah to accept his worship.
The text mentions that they had endured and had served Jehovah despite the difficulties, but had lost the love they had in the beginning, so the advice given to them is that they must rekindle that love if they want Jehovah to accept their worship.
b) What is the lesson for us?
It is not enough that we endure; we have to do it for the right reasons. Jehovah looks not only at what we do, but also at why we do it.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
It is not enough that we endure; we have to do it for the right reasons. Jehovah looks not only at what we do, but also why we do it.
Good for us the same and it is not enough that we endure we have to do it for the right reasons, Jehovah looks not only at what we do but also why we do it and he expects us to worship him out of love and gratitude.
7. a) According to Revelation 3:1-3, what problem did Jesus see in the Sardis congregation?
Although they had been very active in Jehovah's service, now it is quite relaxed so they should wake up according to Jesus' words.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Although they had been active in their service to Jehovah in the past, the Christians in Sardis had relaxed.
The brothers in the congregation in Sardis had a different problem although in the past they had been active in their service to Jehovah, now they had relaxed so Jesus told them that they should wake up.
b) What should we do?
Although Jehovah does not forget what we do, that is not why we should rest on our laurels and stop continuing our efforts. According to our circumstances we want to be very awake and vigilant until the end comes.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We cannot rest on our laurels and think that we no longer have to continue to strive, we must remain awake and vigilant until the end comes.
As Mark 13:33 says the advice is that we stay alert and awake by focusing or keeping busy in the preaching work.
8. What lesson do we learn from Jesus' words to the Laodicean Christians? (Revelation 3:15-17).
He told them that they were lukewarm or apathetic in worshiping Jehovah and that they should stir up their enthusiasm. If that is the case for us, we need to deepen our appreciation for spiritual riches. We must not allow a comfortable life to distract us from our spiritual activities.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The Laodiceans were “lukewarm” or apathetic in their worship of Yahweh, so they had to fuel their enthusiasm for Yahweh and his worship, the lesson for us is that we need to deepen our appreciation for spiritual riches so as not to fall asleep spiritually.
Well, I remember that in a conference it does a lot of damage to show how dangerous it is to be lukewarm in a spiritual sense, exemplified in the following way: when one comes home cold in the winter, one has to drink something hot and if something lukewarm is served, rejects and the same thing happens in the summer if one arrives very hot and wants to drink something cold and is given something lukewarm, he spits it out of his mouth, in the same way Jehovah if our worship is lukewarm he will reject us.
9. Taking into account what Jesus told the congregations of Pergamos and Thyatira, what danger should we avoid?
In Pergamum divisions and sects were encouraged. In Thyatira the deep things of Satan had been avoided. Today we want to know how to differentiate the false teachings that go against what Jehovah thinks. For that we need to be good students of the Bible and recognize the truth.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jesus strongly rebuked some Christians in Pergamos for fomenting divisions and sects and commended the Christians in Thyatira who had avoided the "deep things of Satan" and encouraged them to hold fast to the truth, we must reject any teaching that goes against what Jehovah thinks.
The paragraph clearly explained that we must reject any teaching that goes against what Jehovah thinks of what Jehovah teaches us, apostates may appear to have devotion to God but in reality they are denying the power of that devotion, then we have We have to be careful with these apostate teachings that we can find in different parts of our daily lives.
It is important that we do not expose ourselves to ideas that are apostate, perhaps we do not directly contact an apostate but sometimes those ideas come from many sources, sometimes from television programs, any idea that really goes against the divine principles that goes against what Jehovah teaches us, we must isolate ourselves from that, what is the antidote, what can we do so as not to expose ourselves or so that those ideas do not affect us, the important thing is to be good students in the word of God, It even comes to me mind what the principle of Romans 12:2 says where it explains that we prove to ourselves what is the good, accepts and perfect will of God, then if we have a good solid foundation in knowledge and faith those ideas obviously do not they will affect
10. What other lesson do we learn from what Jesus told the congregations in Pergamum and Thyatira?
That Jehovah will not tolerate that we fall into sexual immorality regardless of whether we have many years in the truth or many responsibilities in the congregation.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
In Pergamos and Thyatira, some Christians from those congregations did not reject sexual immorality, and that is why Jesus called their attention, this teaches us that Jehovah will not tolerate us falling into sexual immorality, even if we have spent years in the truth and have many responsibilities.
It teaches us that Jehovah does not tolerate any act that we can do and immoral so we have to respect Jehovah's high standards.
It is true that we live in the time of the Lord as we commented at the beginning and possibly many things change, at that time it was considered that many Christians were already tolerating immorality that means that it was happening within the town and now possibly today they have been in the truth but in the same way we have to take care of ourselves, also if the standards of the world go down it is expected that we always take care of ourselves and value the moral standards that Jehovah places in his word therefore the book of Ephesians teaches us that we must always continue putting or wearing the full armor that comes from him.
11. What have we learned so far? (Also see the box “Lessons for Us.”)
Which is very important to make sure that Jehovah accepts our worship. And if we are doing something wrong make the changes immediately.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We have seen how important it is to make sure that Jehovah accepts our worship. If we're doing something wrong, let's immediately make the necessary changes.
We have seen that it is very important to make sure of what Jehovah accepts in our worship and as shown here, especially if we are doing something or we notice that we are not well, it is important to make the necessary changes but for that we have to seek help, seek information see in that we are wrong what are the changes that we have to make we can also ask for help if we cannot do it by ourselves, then that way we are actually going to make the changes that we need because as shown here, Jesus mentions something very important when he sent them to the congregations and in the Bible there are many things that we can find that can help us make those changes and especially Jehovah.
lessons for us
Do not lose the love you initially felt for Jehovah.
Stay awake and vigilant.
Worship Jehovah enthusiastically and wholeheartedly.
Reject all apostate teachings.
Do not practice or tolerate any type of sexual immorality.
BE PREPARED TO ENDURE PERSECUTION
12. What do we learn from the messages received by the congregations in Smyrna and Philadelphia? (Revelation 2:10).
He told the Christians in Smyrna and Philadelphia not to fear persecution because Jehovah would reward them for their faithfulness. Therefore, persecution is something we should expect and prepare to endure.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jesus told those Christians not to be afraid of persecution, because Jehovah would reward them for their faithfulness, persecution is something to expect and be prepared to endure.
That we do not have to be afraid of persecution because Jehovah rewards faithfulness and as it says in part of Matthew 24:9 they will persecute you and all the nations will hate you because of my name, so we also learn that if we are followers of Jesus persecution is something we should expect and be prepared to endure.
13, 14. What effect have the events mentioned in Revelation chapter 12 had on God's servants?
The Apocalypse tells us that Satan's reaction to having been cast from heaven is to unleash his fury against the rest of anointed Christians.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Chapter 12 explains that "a war broke out in heaven", Jesus Christ and his armies fought against Satan and the demons where they were defeated and cast down to Earth, where they make people suffer a lot.
Since he no longer has access to the heavenly realm, he vents his fury against the rest of the anointed Christians, who are the representatives of the Kingdom of God on Earth and "have the mission of bearing witness about Jesus."
Chapter 12 explains why a war broke out in heaven and the result was that God's enemies were defeated and cast down to earth where they make people in general suffer a lot, but since they no longer have access to the heavenly realm they vent their fury mainly against the rest of the anointed Christians and that prophecy is being fulfilled to this day.
15. Who are the “two witnesses” of Revelation chapter 11, and what happened to them?
They refer to the Anointed Ones who direct the preaching of the kingdom. In 1918 it applied to the 8 brothers who directed the work and who were falsely accused and sentenced to spend a long time in prison.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Satan made the enemies of God attack the anointed brothers who led the preaching of the Kingdom, they are the "two witnesses" who according to the book of Revelation are executed, in 1918, eight of the brothers who led the work were falsely accused and condemned to spend a lot of time in prison.
The two witnesses of chapter 11 represent the group of anointed Christians who led the people at that time since 1914 when the kingdom of God was established, and it happened that after preaching they were imprisoned and killed and they were killed for saying so like this, because they prohibited preaching of all kinds. They couldn't even print any activity, but as we will see later, they came back to life.
16. What surprisingly happened in 1919, but what has Satan continued to do since then?
That in less than a year of incarceration these Christians were released from jail and immediately resumed the work of the kingdom. But Satan did not give up and launched a river of persecution against all of God's servants.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The prophecy also says that the “two witnesses” would come back to life after a short period of time. In March 1919, these anointed Christians were released from prison, and the charges against them were later dropped. The brothers quickly resumed their Kingdom work, but Satan has launched “a river” of persecution against all of God's servants.

ILLUSTRATION:
A dragon representing Satan attacks God's people on Earth. Series of images: 1. Eight anointed Christians with great responsibilities who were imprisoned in 1918. 2. In a Nazi concentration camp, an armed policeman shouts orders to several brothers. 3. Armed and hooded officers arrest a brother. 4. A brother from South Korea is handcuffed and tied up with ropes.
How has Satan attacked God's people after being cast out of heaven? (See paragraphs 12 to 16).
And we can see the brothers who were arrested in the year 1918 and then we have the brothers from Germany when they were persecuted during the second world war, we also have the brothers from Russia who are persecuted and also the brothers from Korea who have also suffered for many years persecution.
DO ALL YOU CAN IN THE WORK THAT JEHOVAH HAS COMMITTED TO US
17. What unexpected help have God's servants received despite being the target of Satan's attacks?
That the land "swallowed the river" of persecution. It refers to some judicial systems that have helped the people of God. Achieving many legal victories that have allowed them to enjoy a certain freedom.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jehovah's servants have achieved many legal victories that have allowed them to enjoy some freedom to preach, making the most of any opportunity to accomplish the work that Jehovah has commissioned them to do.
The paragraph explains that one of the things that has happened unexpectedly is that the most reasonable elements in the world is Satan, as some judicial issues have come to the aid of the people of God, that is why it explained that the servants of Jehovah have achieved many legal victories that have allowed them to enjoy a certain freedom in some countries.
18. What is our main mission in these last days?
Announce the good news of the Kingdom of God before the end comes.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jesus predicted that his disciples would announce “the good news of the Kingdom” of God throughout the Earth before the end, and for this we even have the support of angels.
Well our mission now in these last days is to declare the good news of the kingdom throughout the earth before the end comes and to fulfill this mission we have the support of an angel, we have the head of the congregation Jesus Christ and a group of angels who also have good news to announce to those who live on earth to every nation to every tongue and to every people.
19. What other message do those who love Jehovah have to preach?
A series of calamities for those who reject the kingdom of God. That is to show what God will do to the different elements of Satan's evil world. During the great tribulation the final message of condemnation will be even harsher.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The servants of God will have to declare a series of calamities for those who reject the Kingdom of God, a message of condemnation that is like "hail and fire", this message shows what God will do to the different elements of Satan's evil world, such as This message is not liked by everyone, we have to be brave.
The servants of God will have to declare a series of calamities for those who reject the kingdom of God, this message of condemnation that is like hail and fire, this message shows what God will do to the whole world of Satan, as not everyone likes the world we have to be brave.
ILLUSTRATION:
An angel announces good news to the inhabitants of Earth. Behind is a group of seven angels; one of them plays a trumpet. Series of images: 1. Brothers show signs that they raise with their hands or hang from their shoulders. Some signs say "Religion is a snare and a fraud" or "Serve God and Christ the King." 2. A couple offers "The Watchtower" of February 1, 2012, which talks about Armageddon. 3. A man carries in his hands “The Watchtower” number 2 of 2021, entitled “Soon we will live in a better world”.
What two messages do the servants of God announce? (See paragraphs 18 and 19).
You can see how the fury of Satan once he was thrown to earth has been displayed exclusively in our dear brothers starting from the time in which Jehovah has begun to shed light with the Christians who have abandoned apostasy, from there began the persecution but no surprising face is seen we see that all the brothers are waiting for this to happen but each one of them is seen intact in the images.
In fact, the image for the paragraph clearly shows us this, there we see two brothers who came out a while ago who spoke of Armageddon and this watchtower was very clear saying that those who did not take the part of Jehovah were going to be destroyed, but at On the other side we see another watchtower that came out a little while ago where it says a better world is near, so we are proclaiming both messages at this time.
OBEY “THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY”
20. What will we analyze in the next two articles?
We will see what the Apocalypse says about the enemies of God and then the blessings that await us if we remain faithful.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
There are two things that will give us strength to faithfully endure persecution and continue preaching with courage: first, what Revelation says about the enemies of God, and, second, the blessings that await us if we remain faithful.
We will analyze what the Apocalypse says about the enemies of God and also the blessings that await us if we remain faithful.
WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?
What lessons do we learn from the messages that Jesus sent to the seven congregations?
Because we need to make sure that our worship is accepted by Jehovah.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We learned first that the book of Revelation was written for us and that Jesus is very aware of everything that happens to the congregations and our spiritual health, we also learned what we have to do so that our worship is what Jehovah accepts.
Why should we be prepared for persecution?
Because after the birth of the Kingdom of God, Satan was cast out of heaven along with his demons and that is why he unleashes his fury against the rest of the anointed Christians.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Because Satan is furious since 1914 he has been attacking the Jehovah's Witnesses to the anointed people as well, so we must be prepared and one of those ways is to strengthen our faith, it is not something that should not impress has already been happening with our brother from Korea of Russia and we have to strengthen our faith as a true shield to be able to cope with this situation is part of the prophetic fulfillment.
What work do we servants of God have to do in this time of the end?
We need to announce the good news of the Kingdom to all the people who want to hear it. And also support the angels in announcing a series of calamities for those who reject the Kingdom of God.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
And as we have seen and we are participants in a great work which is to preach the good news of the kingdom, bringing this hope to people but we also have to help people to be aware of the things that are going to happen of what is going to come the system of things can't stand it anymore, so a message of judgment is coming, we have already made that message of judgment, but as the end approaches, the message of judgment is going to be more forceful, so we have to prepare for that.
