TREASURES OF THE BIBLE, October 17-23, 2022, “Use Your Authority As Jehovah Does,” Prepared Speech.

“Use Your Authority Like Jehovah Does” (10 min.)

What does the word authority mean? It is the power to command and the correlative obligation to be obeyed by others or a more complete definition would be the power to make decisions that produce effects. So the person who has authority has a lot of power in his hands and that person must have certain skills to have authority and exercise it properly, we are going to see this in the speech that corresponds to us for treasures of the Bible with the title use your authority as Jehovah does.

All of us have a certain degree of authority, it can be in a company at the family level or in the congregation, so to do it properly you always need to have a model that helps us make the right decisions for the benefit of those in our charge, as well as for ourselves, the case that we are going to see here or the example that we are going to see here has to do with Jehovah. He is the perfect example of course we are not going to fulfill it 100%, but the maximum we see will bring positive results, let's talk about how much authority Jehovah has, in 1 Kings chapter 22 verse 19 says the following:

LET'S READ 1 KINGS 22:19.

And Micaia said: “Listen now to the words of Jehovah. I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right and on his left.

This prophet Micaya who lived at the time of the evil King Ahab had a vision where he saw Jehovah sitting on his heavenly throne and described the vision he had, he said: I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne and all the army of heaven standing together with him. Therefore it is being indicated that Jehovah has absolute authority and is based on the fact that he is the creator, this gives him the right to determine what conduct is appropriate for his creatures and what is moral or immoral and these standards have been established for benefit of humanity and has put them in the word of the Bible.

However, despite the fact that he has absolute authority, he does not abuse it but rather uses it in due proportion, one skill that those who exercise authority must have is his leadership, he must be analytical and have good judgment, in our case either At the level of the family or the congregation, we have authority that has been given by Jehovah the highest authority, but that authority towards us also has its limits, because we are talking about handling imperfect human beings as we are too. Jehovah is quite the opposite, a perfect being who has no one to answer to, something different in our case.

So the authority we have received can also be taken away the moment we begin to abuse it or use it for our own benefit. Another important skill that those who have authority must have is trust in their subordinates and Jehovah fully trusts not only human beings who are loyal to them, but also in their spiritual creatures. Let's see what happened in this same time of Mikaya and Ahab. Jehovah needed to act and he could have done it on his own without having to go to someone, however let's see how he trusts his spiritual servants, let's see in 1 Kings this time chapter 22 verses 20 to 22, the situation that is presents:

LET'S READ 1 KINGS 22:20-22.

Jehovah then said: 'Who will trick Ahab into going up to Ramoth-Gilead and dying there?' And one said one thing, while another said another. 21 Then a spirit came up and stood before Jehovah and said: 'I will deceive him.' Jehovah asked him: 'How are you going to do it?' 22 He answered, 'I will go and become a deceitful spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' So he told her, 'You're going to trick him; Yeah, he's going to be fine for you. Go ahead and do it'.

How humble of Jehovah, we know that he is the wisest being that exists and what is happening here, he listens to the opinion of one of his servants, he even allows him to give him suggestions, clearly in the text he says how you are going to do it how he was going to carry out this deception and tells him I will go and become a deceitful spirit in the Mouth of all his prophets listened to the suggestion and Jehovah told him you are going to do it well do it. Without a doubt, this model of Jehovah, if we apply it in the congregation or at the family level, will be excellent.

Let's see for example here in the scene that is represented in our activity guide, a family study where a situation that could arise perhaps at school or at the family level is possibly being exposed. The girl is expressing her opinion, what she could do may not be the most perfect, her father or mother would do better, but she has her opinion and you must have a high percentage of security and apply the Biblical principles, if she If you do, you will be demonstrating confidence in your way of acting and that will help you as you grow both spiritually and physically, you will have the assurance that you will be a true Christian in favor of God's name.

The elders also when they allow other brothers who are under their spiritual authority to give suggestions of what could be done, perhaps in the way of cleaning the premises of the Kingdom Hall, perhaps in the way of carrying out some activity that does not have To do with teaching, the elders could allow to let certain natural abilities be put to work if there is no violation of biblical principles and this can be applied for a better function at the level of the congregation, that is an ability that those who must have. they have authority, confidence in those who are under His authority. And that also has to do with teamwork that produces a sense of success. What are other skills? What happened to the suggestion that was given once it was allowed to be put into practice,

LET'S READ 1 KINGS 22:23.

That is why Jehovah has put a deceitful spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, abut in reality Jehovah has announced that you will suffer a calamity.”

This spirit being who was allowed to act and cause lying prophets to assure Ahab that he would win in battle was successful, Jehovah allowed this heavenly creature to act as a deceitful spirit in the mouth of the Prophets, what Jehovah said was fulfilled wanted and did well. Jehovah blessed the work of this Angel, here we have an excellent example of how to use authority as Jehovah does.

The elders can allow some freedom in carrying out some activities within the Kingdom Hall so that things work well, this allows these brothers to feel useful and of course they can see certain skills that they may have and be necessary later in the congregation. or even in the Jehovah organization, he gives us an excellent example of how to use authority he is the Supreme authority.

We have an authority that has been given to us and that we want to exercise properly as First Peter 5:2 and 3 says, not becoming masters of those who are God's inheritance, but becoming examples for the flock, we want to give a good demonstration of to be humble in being able to trust others, and to demonstrate that our greatest example in exercising proper authority will always be our Almighty God Jehovah.
