And considering this part is important, since people all over the world face it. For example the loss of loved ones, the loss of possession, is due to natural or man-made disasters, so it is crucial to be prepared for times of distress.

Aside from practical measures, mental preparation involves accepting the possibility of disasters and not fixating too much on possessions. Spiritual preparation consists of strengthening confidence in Jehovah's protection, remembering his promise and his constant support for his servants.

How does Jehovah help us during an emergency situation?

What practical steps can we take to be prepared?

It is important to stay informed about the recommendations of local authorities, and ensure that our contact details are up to date with the elders of our congregation for a quick response in the event of an emergency.

A practical measure is to have an emergency backpack ready, with items such as a first aid kit, bottled water, non-perishable food, a Bible, and other basic supplies. This prepares us for situations where we need to shelter at home for an extended period.

Additionally, in our nights of family worship, we can evaluate what unexpected situation may occur in the place where we live, in order to be prepared, especially follow the instructions given by the authorities. 

How can we help those who have been affected by a disaster?

We can contribute donations to the global work and volunteer to help in relief efforts, thus demonstrating our commitment to the well-being of our brothers and neighbors.

We can help others affected by disaster by participating in locally organized relief efforts and providing emotional and practical support to those in our congregation who need it. For example, sharing our food or offering accommodation to those who need a place to stay.

For example, if other brothers have been more affected than us, we can offer our home, or perhaps we can share our food with them, we can also help them clean their home or make repairs later, and if the emergency occurs elsewhere we can collaborate. in relief work and for this we must make ourselves available from now on, we can also offer donations and above all let us not forget to pray for all our brothers. 

Jehovah predicted that in the last days there will come critical times that will be difficult to endure, there will be famine, epidemics, earthquakes in one place after another, and other frightening scenes. There are also fires, volcanic eruptions, destructive storms and other man-made disasters. Furthermore, there is more and more crime, riots and wars.

No matter where we live, it is likely that at some point we will be affected by a natural or man-made disaster. How can we prepare? The first thing is to strengthen ourselves spiritually. Isaiah 30:15 says: Your strength will depend on staying calm and showing confidence. So it is important that we have a good friendship with Jehovah and learn to trust him from now on, we do not expect him to intervene miraculously, but if we pray to him in difficult times for his holy spirit, he can make us remember passages from the Bible that help us calm us down and give us wisdom to make good decisions.

Secondly, it is advisable that we have an emergency backpack prepared. It would be good to keep a first aid kit in it. bottled water. nonperishable food. a Bible and other basic items. If possible, each home should have a reasonable amount of basic supplies. in case it was necessary for the family to take refuge at home for a long time. 

Research what the authorities recommend where you live, also make sure that the elderly have their contact information up to date, if they do not have it up to date in case of emergency, valuable time could be lost. Additionally, during family worship night, review the types of disasters that can occur. Remember that events such as terrorist attacks and riots can occur anywhere and without warning. So talk about what to do in each situation, how, where to meet or how to contact the elders.

And thirdly we can prepare to help others when an emergency occurs. To know how, let's first see what steps are taken at the local level in these cases. In cases where there is an emergency notice, the Group overseers make sure that all the brothers in their group are in a safe place, and right after an emergency situation passes, each group overseer contacts with all the brothers in your group to see what you need.

Organizing relief efforts can take time, especially if emergency supplies are in short supply. So it is vital that you take steps to be prepared, heed government advisories, and keep seniors informed of your circumstances. Philippians 2:4 says that we should look out for the interests of others, if we are well prepared, we allow those who need it most to receive more attention, and we may even be able to help others in our congregation and around us.

Even if we have been affected, for example in some cases, perhaps there are siblings who need a place to stay for a while, perhaps we can open the doors of our home to them, or perhaps we can share our food or basic supplies with those who need it, In other cases we may be able to help siblings clean their home or make repairs when it is safe to do so.

And what can you do if the emergency occurs elsewhere? You should travel there to help when help is needed. The branch will appoint brothers to organize and participate in relief efforts. So the best time to make yourself available is now, before an emergency happens. Tell your seniors that you would like to fill out an application, so when there is a need the branch will know you are willing to help 

And remember prayer has a lot of power, when we pray for our brothers we volunteer to help in Relief work or we make donations for the world work, we are helping our brothers, of course we will not always be able to avoid natural disasters and emergency situations. emergencies caused by man, but if we follow the instructions of Jehovah's Organization and his word, our obedience will bring honor to Jehovah. If he becomes spiritually strong, takes practical steps, and is ready to help others, he can have peace of mind knowing that Jehovah will bless his efforts to be prepared for an emergency.
