“Do not be angry because of evil people” (10 mins.)

Are you one of those people who are so sentimental that when you see a very sad movie, something really moving, you start crying and can't stop? And some people around you are amazed at how you react and, of course, some even laugh because you feel so much about what is simply happening in a television show, a movie, something that is not real, but What affects you a lot, what moves you too much.

This can happen to us and we pay too much attention, we concentrate too much on the things we observe around the world, which are real, but which are very far from us. That is what we are going to talk about in this section of Treasures of the Bible with the title: "Do not be angry because of the evil ones." For this, let's start by analyzing how people who cause pain to others feel.

It is very common today to see in the news that there is so much evil, so much cruelty, that someone simply goes out with a gun and kills innocent people, simply because they want to, because they set out to do so, because they have such an evil heart that they don't mind doing so much. damage. King David, when he wrote words describing bad people, it's as if he was describing those people in our day. If we look here at Psalm 36:1-4, it shows that despite doing so many evil things they don't feel any remorse, the verses say like this.

LET'S READ PSALM 36:1-4.

Sin speaks to the wicked from the bottom of his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. 2 Because he is so important in his own eyes that he neither notices his error nor hates him. 3 The words of his mouth hurt and deceive; he is not discerning to do good. 4 Even in his bed he makes evil plans. He clings to a path that is not good; he does not reject what is evil.

Don't you think that these words written thousands of years ago are as if they were describing people today? They have no fear of God, the only ones who matter are them. They scare people, insult them, say what they want and leave quietly after doing it.

You yourself may have been someone who was affected by that action, or we may not have been, but when we watch news, read or see, where people harm innocent children when they treat the elderly and others badly defenseless, seeing all this touches our hearts and makes us think "How long will these things last?" I think that, although we are not as sensitive as someone who watches a movie, it does affect us, it does cause us pain and suffering to see these types of situations.

And just as we observe so much evil on the part of some, we are also seeing that now many do not let that evil pass, but they also demonstrate it by hitting or even killing the people who cause said evil. And that can also be contagious on our part. This is what David also said in Psalm 37:1 there he mentions.

LET'S READ PSALM 37:1.

Do not be angry because of evildoers or envy those who do evil.

It's a little difficult to do it, because we have feelings, it hurts us, and sometimes we can even react and say, "If I had that person in front of me, I would do this and this and this." It is a human reaction, perhaps we could even reach a normal reaction. However, remembering that we are servants of Jehovah we must have the appropriate posture. In the same chapter 37 of the Psalm, this time verse 7 and 8 are reminded of us. 

LET'S READ PSALM 37:7,8.

Keep silent before Jehovah and wait for him with longing. Do not be angry because of the man who successfully plots evil plans.8 Put aside anger, renounce fury; do not be angry, lest you do evil.

It's true, we don't want to be insensitive. If we can act and help someone without putting the lives of others and our own at risk, it is better to leave the situation there. Let's let things, Jehovah correct them in due time. Why not keep that hateful resentment towards the person who does so much evil? Because it is well known even Biblically speaking that resentment is bad for physical and mental health. For example, in Proverbs 14:30, we are told that a calm heart is life to the body.

What do these words mean? That if we feel resentment, it is only to us that it will cause harm. It is as if we take poison and no one else will be affected, but only us. But when what happens hurts us, but we know how to handle the situation and simply wait for Jehovah to correct it in due time, we come to have a certain degree of peace and we wait for this beautiful moment from God to arrive to put an end to the evil ones. .

That is the reason why it is so useful to read the Bible, and especially passages that remind us that we must be patient and that everything, although what we see today is very painful, has a solution. The words in Psalm 37:10, 11, which we have read many times, have a calming effect when we see situations like these. This psalm says: 

LET'S READ PSALM 37:10,11.

Just a little more, and the wicked will be no more; You will look where they were, and they will no longer be there. 11 But the meek will inherit the land and will fully enjoy abundant peace.

What reassuring words. We even get the impression that we don't believe what has happened, because at the end of verse 10 he says, "you will look at where they were and they will no longer be there." As if one would search, And where are all the evil ones, all the bad ones, all those who caused us so much pain and suffering? And they won't be there anymore. All of those people will be replaced by the meek who will inherit the earth. The term translated "meek" comes from a root that means to afflict, to humiliate. That is, all the meek will be those who have waited on Jehovah until the time comes to correct all the injustices that have afflicted us. But that is true, until that time comes, how do we handle the situation so that what we see does not affect us so much? 

In our activity guide we have a combined photograph and under it a question is placed: Do I pay too much attention to the news about what bad people do? Take a good look at the photographs that are on the back of this person who is watching a news story, protests in many parts of the world, corruption of people who ask for money in exchange for leaving us alone, wars even where young people or even children participate, both Crime and delinquency that surrounds us today, that we are no longer free or willing to leave our homes, for fear that something will happen either to our family or to ourselves, and we start to think how long, how long we will wait for all this.

What good advice, if that affects you so much, don't watch them, don't read them, don't talk to others, it's true we can't deny reality, but see things like a movie that has its end, usually Most movies have a happy ending, and we know that everything we are observing today will have a happy ending. 

Armageddon will end all the evil ones and after that will come the most beautiful things that until now we have only seen through drawings, but which will be wonderful to experience. Let us make the effort to see these things from Jehovah's perspective, it is a sign that better times will come. May all of us have the pleasure of being part of those meek, as the book of Psalms says.
