TREASURES FROM GOD'S WORD: June 3-9, 2024, A song about a king's wedding, Prepared Speech. 

A song about a king's wedding (10 mins.)

The day of "The Wedding" is the most important event for any marriage, it is a day of great happiness, and this is so, because it will mark the beginning of an event that will be recorded for a lifetime. In a similar way it happens with the symbolic wedding that we will talk about today in the Treasures of the Bible section with the title: "A song about the wedding of a king." 

So dear brothers and sisters, we meet for another week to continue reflecting. On this occasion about an event of profound significance, the wedding of the messianic King. This event described in Psalms 45 is not only a time of celebration, but also teaches us valuable lessons about our relationship with God and the purpose he has for humanity. And Psalms 45 begins with a declaration of praise and worship, verse 1 says.

LET'S READ PSALM 45:1.

«My heart overflows with something good. And I say: “My song talks about a king.” May my tongue be like the pen of a skilled copyist.

Here in Psalmist expresses his emotion and devotion to the king, this statement reminds us that our praise and prayers must arise from the heart full of sincerity and love. When we talk about the messianic King our words should be like those of a skilled writer full of reverence and admiration for the glorious bride of the King, in verse 13 and 14 that we are going to read he says the following: 

LET'S READ PSALMS 45:13,14.

13 In the palace, the king's daughter shines in all her splendor; her clothes are adorned with gold. 14 They will bring her to the king in richly woven clothes. The virgins who follow her, her companions, will be brought in before you.

The bride depicted as the new Jerusalem in revelation 21:2 is described as all glorious. This heavenly city adorned and prepared for her husband reflects the glory of God. In Ephesians 5:26 and 27, we are told that Christ has been preparing her bride by cleansing her with the bath of water through words to present her as holy and blameless.

This preparation symbolizes the purification and sanctification of us as followers of Christ, which urges us to seek the victory of the King. In verses 3 and 4 of Psalm 45 the king is described in all the Majesty and power of him that he says.

LET'S READ PSALMS 45:3,4.

Place the sword at your waist, oh powerful one, with dignity and splendor. 4 In your splendor, advance towards victory; ride for truth, humility and justice, and your right hand will achieve impressive things.

This image of the King riding towards victory fills us with hope and confidence, it reminds us that the Messianic king Jesus Christ will come in defense of his people and defeat his enemies, then in Revelation 19:11 to 15, it is described as Jesus accompanied by the armies of heaven, will come to destroy those who oppose God. This act of divine Justice will bring peace and security to the faithful 

The wedding celebration after the victory at Armageddon will be the wedding of the lamb. This event is described in Revelation 19:6 to 9, as the most exciting event in the book of Revelation. Faithful Christians on Earth, seeing the annihilation of God's enemies, will not be able to contain their joy. This wedding symbolizes the eternal union between Christ and the congregation, and will be celebrated in heaven when all of God's enemies have been eliminated. Finally, in Psalm 46:8 to 11 we are invited to witness the wonderful works of Jehovah and there it says the following: 

LET'S READ PSALM 46:8-11.

Come and witness the activities of Jehovah, who has done amazing things on earth. 9 He ends wars throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and smashes the spear,

burn the military cars* in the fire. 10 “Surrender and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.” 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is a safe refuge for us.

As we can see, dear brothers, this promise of eternal peace fills us with hope, since after the war of Armageddon the earth will enjoy a thousand years of peace, and in that time the people who receive eternal life will live in a world where there will be no more wars and weapons will be transformed into tools for agriculture, as described in Isaiah 24 and Micah 4 3 to 4.

In our corresponding activity guide this week we are assigned the following question: Does my heart overflow with the desire to tell others the good news about Jesus Christ our king? Let's remember the words we analyzed at the beginning, where it says that our heart is overflowing with something good, which prompts us to act as Psalm 45 says, that our tongue be like the pen of a skilled copyist.

For this week we have two images that are related to this topic that is so important to us. In the first illustration we can see Jesus and his symbolic bride observing the Earth from heaven holding hands, which symbolizes the unity that Jesus and his bride have with the 144,000 Anointed Ones who will rule with him from the heavens. 

And in the second illustration we can see the result of this wedding, since in this image we can see both men and women enjoying paradise, since there we will enjoy a peaceful environment, abundant food and the company of both family and friends. our dear brothers who have remained loyal in order to obtain the eternal life that Jehovah promises us.

So, brothers, a glorious hope awaits us. Psalm 45 offers us a vision of that wedding of the messianic King, this event symbolizes the eternal union between Christ and the congregation, and reminds us of the wonderful blessings that await us. To do this, we must prepare for this day, seeking purification and sanctification and living with the hope of the eternal peace that God has promised. May our praise and prayers always be sincere and full of love reflecting the devotion we feel for our King and Savior.
