He went through the land doing good and healing all the oppressed (Acts 10:38).

Let's travel to the end of the year 29. Jesus has just begun his ministry. He and his mother attend a wedding banquet in Cana. Maria is apparently helping to serve the guests. But the wine runs out. Mary quickly goes to her son and tells him, “They have no wine left” (John 2:1-3). What does Jesus do? It turns water into “good wine” (John 2:9, 10). Jesus performed many more miracles during his ministry. He used his power to help thousands and thousands of people. For example, on one occasion he fed 5,000 men and on another 4,000. With just those two miracles, it is possible that in total he fed more than 27,000 people, if we include the women and children who were there (Matt. 14:15-21; 15:32-38). On both occasions, Jesus also healed those who were sick (Matt. 14:14; 15:30, 31). w23.04 2 paras. 1, 2.

How did Jesus use his power?

Jesus performed many more miracles during his ministry.c He used his power to help thousands and thousands of people. For example, on one occasion he fed 5,000 men and on another 4,000. With just those two miracles, it is possible that in total he fed more than 27,000 people, if we include the women and children who were there (Matt. 14:15-21; 15:32-38). On both occasions, Jesus also healed those who were sick (Matt. 14:14; 15:30, 31). Surely all those people were amazed to see that Jesus fed them and miraculously healed them.

Why is it good to analyze the miracles of Jesus?

We can learn a lot from the miracles of Jesus. In this article we will find lessons that will strengthen our faith. We will also see how to imitate the humility and compassion that Jesus showed when performing these miracles.

Who can we learn from as we review the miracles of Jesus?

Jesus' miracles not only teach us a lot about himself, but also about his Father. Ultimately it was Jehovah who gave him the power to perform miracles. Acts 10:38 says this about Jesus: “God anointed him with holy spirit and power, and […] he went throughout the land doing good and healing all those oppressed by the Devil, because God was with him.” Furthermore, as we know, Jesus perfectly imitated his Father's feelings and way of thinking. This was evident in what he said and did, including miracles (John 14:9). Let's look at three lessons we can draw from the miracles of Jesus that will strengthen our faith.

What motivated Jesus to perform miracles? (Matthew 20:30-34).

First, Jesus and his Father love us very much. When he was on Earth, Jesus showed how much he loved people by using his power to perform miracles to relieve their suffering. On one occasion, two blind men cried out for help (read Matthew 20:30-34). The story says that Jesus felt “deeply moved” and then restored their sight. The Greek verb here translated “deeply moved” refers to an emotion so intense and deep that it is physically felt. Such great compassion, which is a reflection of the love that Jesus felt, also motivated him to feed the hungry and heal a leper (Matt. 15:32; Mark 1:41). So we are convinced that Jehovah, the God of “tender compassion,” and his Son love us very much, and it pains them to see us suffer (Luke 1:78; 1 Pet. 5:7). They want with all their might to end the problems that plague humanity.

What power has God given Jesus?

Second, God has given Jesus the power to end all of humanity's problems. There are problems that we could never solve. But Jesus, with his miracles, showed that he can. For example, it has the power to eliminate the root of all human ills: inherited sin and all that it causes, such as disease and death (Matt. 9:1-6; Rom. 5:12, 18 , 19). His miracles prove that he can heal “all kinds of diseases” and even raise the dead (Matt. 4:23; John 11:43, 44). He also has the power to control strong wind storms and defeat evil spirits (Mark 4:37-39; Luke 8:2). Doesn't it comfort us to know that Jehovah has given so much power to his Son?
