APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: 3-9-February-2025, Speech: The wife should deeply respect her husband, Lesson 1, Prepared Assignment.

Speech (4 mins.) lmd appendix A point 7. Title: The wife should deeply respect her husband (th lesson 1).

What would you do if you had a key in your hands that can strengthen your marriage, improve communication with your husband, and bring harmony to the home?

The Bible tells us that that “key” is respect. Ephesians 5:33 reminds us: …Why is this so important? How can it be applied in daily life?

God has placed the husband in a position of leadership in the family. This does not mean that he is superior to his wife, but that he has a responsibility to Jehovah. Colossians 3:18 says: …

Let's think about a work team. If there are two colleagues who do not agree, the boss makes the final decision so that the work moves forward. Does this mean that the boss is always right? No, but someone must make the final decision. The same thing happens in marriage. When a wife respects her husband's role, she is helping the family function harmoniously.

Let's mention practical examples of respect in marriage.

In communication: Instead of correcting him in front of others, wait for a suitable moment and talk to him privately. Avoid speaking to him in an authoritarian or critical tone. Instead of saying, “You never do things right!”, you can say, “I think we could try this another way.”

When you make decisions: You may not agree with their decision, but instead of arguing, you can say, “I don't see it the same way, but I support you.” If something doesn't go well, don't say, “I told you so,” but rather, “It didn't turn out the way we expected, but we can try another way.”

When he doesn't share your faith: If your husband is not a Witness, instead of criticizing him, highlight his positive qualities. Instead of pressuring him to study the Bible, show him through your behavior that your faith makes you a better wife and mother. As 1 Peter 3:1,2 says, “Win your husbands without words, by your chaste conduct coupled with deep respect.”

Many sisters have seen how their respect and patience have helped their husbands become interested in the truth. A sister in the United States put up with her husband's bad behavior for more than 20 years, but she never stopped respecting him. One day, he himself decided to give up his vices and began attending meetings. Finally, he became a Jehovah's Witness. Perhaps not everyone will have this experience, but when a wife shows respect to her husband, Jehovah blesses her with peace and happiness in her home.

In conclusion, respect is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. As Psalm 19:7,8 says: “The commandments of the Lord are right, they make the heart rejoice.” Although applying this advice is not always easy, remembering that Jehovah guides us for our good motivates us to try every day. Are you willing to use this “key” to strengthen your marriage?
