Speech (5 mins.) w11 3/15 14 paras. 7-10. Title: Show that you trust God when you preach to those who have no interest (th lesson 20).
In these last days, many of us are facing challenges in our ministry. Some of us preach in places where people don't seem interested in hearing God's message. But how can we show that we trust God in situations like these? The Bible gives us an inspiring example in the life of Jeremiah. He was a prophet who preached in Judah during the last days of that kingdom. Despite the opposition and lack of interest from the people, Jeremiah continued to preach God's message. At one point, he even felt overwhelmed and complained about his situation, but he did not give up. He continued to trust in God and fulfill his command.
In Jeremiah 17:7, 8, we read the following:
7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, who puts his trust in the Lord.
8 It will be like a tree planted by the waters, spreading its roots to the stream of water. When the heat comes, you will not feel it, but will always be leafy. And in a year of drought it will not be distressed nor will it fail to bear fruit.
When we trust in God, we are like leafy trees that produce fruit even in times of drought. In these last days, it is important that we persevere in our ministry, even when people do not seem interested.
In Hebrews 13:15 we are reminded of the following:
Through him let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips, which publicly declare his name.
This means that, as servants of Jehovah, we have the responsibility to offer a sacrifice of praise to God, not only with our words but also with our actions. We must continue to preach God's message with dedication, even when people show no interest.
To help us endure these last days, Jehovah provides us with a true spiritual paradise. Among other blessings, he has given us the complete Bible, which is being faithfully translated into more and more languages. Furthermore, through the faithful slave a banquet of spiritual food is served to us in due time. And it also allows us to enjoy edifying fellowship with a large multitude of brothers in our meetings and assemblies. We make good use of all these blessings. All who do so will cry out for joy because of a good state of heart, but those who do not listen to God will scream because of pain of heart and howl because of sheer brokenness of spirit, as mentioned in Isaiah 65:13, 14.
In conclusion, when we are faced with people who do not seem interested in hearing God's message, we may feel discouraged or frustrated. But, as servants of Jehovah, we must remember that our labor is not in vain. We must trust that God is working in the hearts of those we preach to, even if it doesn't seem like it. So let's not give up! Let us continue to preach God's message with interest and dedication, even when people do not seem interested! For we know that Jehovah is the one who opens hearts and eyes, and that his word will not return void.
