APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, March 17-23, 2025, Start conversations: PUBLIC PREACHING. (Making disciples: a labor of love, Lesson 6 point 4). Prepared Assignment.
Start conversations (3 mins.) PUBLIC PREACHING. Invite a person who does not have a Christian background to the Memorial. Show him how to find where he can attend on jw.org (lmd lesson 6 point 4).
Setting: The publisher hands out invitations in a public square, approaches a young woman who mentions not having a Christian background, but shows curiosity to learn more about Jesus.
Publisher: Well, I already delivered another invitation. Who else can I approach? Ah, there is that young woman. She seems foreign because of her way of dressing and her reserved attitude. I'm not sure if he speaks Spanish, but I remember that Jehovah sees hearts, not appearances. I'm going to try it.
Publisher: Hello, sorry to interrupt you. My name is [Name] and I am delivering a special invitation to a very important event.
Assistant: Hello, nice to meet you. What is it about?
Publisher: It is the commemoration of the death of Jesus. On the invitation is the date, time and place where it will take place.
Assistant: I understand. So it is a Christian event. Look, I come from another country and my parents raised me in another religion, but I have always been curious to learn more about Jesus.
Publisher: How interesting. Jesus left a very important legacy for all humanity. In fact, He Himself explained the purpose of His life with these words: (read Mark 10:45) “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many people.”
Helper: How nice! I would like to know more, but by the date of the commemoration I will have already returned to my country.
Publisher: No problem. Look, there is a QR code on the invitation. If you scan it, it will take you to our official website, jw.org. From there, you just have to go to the “Where to attend the commemoration” section, enter your location and it will show you directions to a nearby place where you can attend.
Helper: That's great! I didn't know I could find that information on the Internet. I will make arrangements to attend.
Publisher: It was a pleasure to help you. I hope you can enjoy the meeting and learn more about Jesus. Have a great day.
Helper: Thank you. It was a pleasure talking to you.
