Is Jehovah's arm too short? (Num. 11:23, footnote).

Moses left us an extraordinary example of faith and trust in Jehovah. When he led the Israelites out of Egypt, he was not intimidated by Pharaoh or his army, but trusted that Jehovah would protect and care for them. However, even Moses had times when he struggled to understand how Jehovah would fulfill what he had promised, such as when he announced that he would provide them with meat in the wilderness. Therefore, Jehovah reminded him that his hand is never too short and that he has the power to fulfill everything he promises. In contrast, many Israelites were swayed by complaining, grew tired of the manna, and forgot all that Jehovah had done for them.

How did Moses show his trust in Jehovah when he led the Israelites out of Egypt?

Moses demonstrated his complete trust in Jehovah because he was not intimidated by Pharaoh or his powerful army. Even though the situation seemed hopeless, he faithfully led the Israelites through the Red Sea and continued to trust in Jehovah throughout their journey through the wilderness. Unlike many Israelites who lost faith in Jehovah, Moses maintained his faith, confident that Jehovah would care for his people. And Jehovah did not disappoint him, providing them with food and water to survive.

Why did Jehovah ask Moses the question found in Numbers 11:21-23?

Jehovah asked Moses that question because he wanted to help strengthen his confidence in Jehovah's power. Although Moses had great faith, he struggled to imagine how Jehovah could provide enough meat to feed millions of people in the desert. So Jehovah reminded him that Jehovah's hand—that is, his power at work through his holy spirit—is limitless and that he can always fulfill what he promises.

Why is it important that we analyze what happened to Moses and the Israelites?

It is important that we analyze what happened to Moses and the Israelites because it helps us recognize the importance of always trusting in Jehovah and never doubting that he can take care of us and our families. Furthermore, it allows us to strengthen our faith and remember that his power is limitless and that he can always provide what we need.

Why did many Israelites begin to doubt that Jehovah could take care of them?

Many Israelites began to doubt Jehovah’s ability to care for them because they were influenced by the complaints of the foreigners who were with them. They grew tired of eating manna, began to long for the food they had in Egypt, and lost sight of all that Jehovah had already done for them. This shows that when we focus on what we lack, we can fail to appreciate what Jehovah provides.

REFLECTION

Today’s daily text teaches us that we should trust fully in Jehovah, even when circumstances seem difficult or we cannot understand how he will help us. It also reminds us not to be influenced by complaints or dwell too much on what we lack, for that could weaken our faith and cause us to take for granted the blessings we receive. Like Moses, we want to maintain our confidence that Jehovah’s hand is never too short and that he always has the power to fulfill his promises and care for his servants.
