What did Peter and John do to obey Jesus' instructions for the Passover?

They made many preparations such as making the bread, preparing the wine, getting oil for the lamps, the lamb, a towel, a basin and water. There was a lot of work involved to make this celebration happen.

What lesson in humility did Jesus give the night before he died?

Although the disciples had learned for 3 and a half years about humility and it was time to show it. That night Jesus himself took the lead and humbly, wrapped the towel around his waist, took the water and the basin and washed the feet of his disciples, not one, not two, but all.

How do we know that Peter and John took that lesson to heart?

Because 30 years later Pedro was still thinking about humility, and 60 years later that lesson was still ringing loud and clear in Juan's head.

In what ways can we show humility?

Not expecting to be treated in a special way just because we have a lot of time in the organization. Being willing to take the lead, doing what no one wants to do, Instead of just commanding, Being willing to train others. And even in the workplace we should be willing to train others to do their job well.
