Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021

They positively will not die (Gen. 3: 4).

God did not want human beings to die, but to live forever. For this, Adam and Eve had to obey Jehovah, who gave them this simple command: “As for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, because on the day you eat from it, you will positively die ”(Gen. 2:16, 17). But then Satan used a serpent to tell Eve the words recorded in today's text. Unfortunately, she believed that lie and ate the fruit of the tree. Later, her husband did too (Gen. 3: 6). Thus, sin and death entered mankind (Rom. 5:12). Just as God had said, Adam and Eve died. But Satan did not stop lying about death. At some point, he began to spread other lies, such as the teaching that when a person dies, a part of him continues to live, perhaps in the spirit world. Different versions of this same lie have deceived countless numbers of people to this day (1 Tim. 4: 1). w19.04 14, 15 pars. 3. 4

As Jeremiah 19: 5 shows, why do Satan's lies about the dead stain Jehovah's name?

Satan's lies about the dead stain Jehovah's name. Among these lies is the false teaching that the dead are tormented in hell. Why are these ideas a slander? Because deep down they imply that Jehovah, the God of love, has the personality of the Devil (1 John 4: 8). How does this make us feel? Most importantly, how does it make Jehovah feel? Let's not forget that he hates all kinds of cruelty (read Jeremiah 19: 5).

What effect do Satan's lies have on faith in Christ's sacrifice, spoken of in John 3:16 and 15:13?

Satan's lies about death sabotage faith in Christ's sacrifice (Matt. 20:28). Another lie of the Devil is that human beings have an immortal soul. If that were true, everyone would live forever. Then, Christ would not have had to give his life for us to get eternal life. Let us remember that his sacrifice is the greatest demonstration of love for humanity (read John 3:16; 15:13). How will Jehovah and his Son feel about the teachings that sabotage this precious gift?

How do Satan's lies about death increase humanity's suffering?

Satan's lies increase humanity's pain and suffering. For example, parents who have lost a child may be told that God has taken him away because he needs another little angel in heaven. Isn't it true that this satanic lie does not alleviate their pain, but rather exacerbates it? On the other hand, the false teaching of hell has been used to justify torture, such as burning at the stake those who did not agree with the beliefs of the Church. According to a book on the Spanish Inquisition, some of those responsible for these cruelties apparently believed that they were only giving heretics "a preview of what would be eternal torment" so that they would repent before dying and be saved from hell. Also, in some places, people feel the need to worship their ancestors, honor them or seek their blessing. Others try to appease them to avoid being punished by them. Unfortunately, beliefs based on diabolical lies give no real comfort. Rather, they cause unnecessary distress or even fear.
