Intimate friendship with Jehovah is for those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them (Ps. 25:14).

Let's talk about some friends of God who lived before the death of Jesus. Abraham had extraordinary faith. When more than a thousand years had passed since his death, Jehovah called him “my friend” (Isa. 41: 8). So even death cannot separate Jehovah from his good friends. In fact, Abraham lives on in Jehovah's memory. --Luke 20:37, 38). Another good example is Job. On one occasion when the angels were gathered in heaven, Jehovah expressed his confidence in Job. Speaking of him, he said: “He is a man of integrity and uprightness who fears God and avoids all evil” (Job 1: 6-8). And what did he think of Daniel, who served him faithfully for some eighty years in a country where people worshiped other gods? When Daniel was very old, the angels assured him three times that he was someone “very valuable” to God (Dan. 9:23; 10:11, 19).We are sure that Jehovah is looking forward to the day when he will resurrect his dear friends. --Job 14:15. w20.05 26, 27 pars. 3. 4

How can the holy spirit help us?

The holy spirit helps us to fulfill well the responsibilities we receive in our service to God. It can enhance our talents and abilities. In fact, we know that the good results we achieve in serving Jehovah are not due to our efforts, but to the help of his spirit.

According to Psalm 139: 23, 24, what can we ask for in prayer?

Another way to show that we value holy spirit is by asking Jehovah to help us detect any wrong thoughts or desires in our hearts. --Read Psalm 139: 23, 24. In answer to our prayers, Jehovah can show us through his spirit if there is something we need to correct. And, if that happens, let us ask the Holy Spirit to give us strength to fight against that bad thought or desire. In this way, we will show that we do not want to do anything to prevent Jehovah from continuing to help us with his spirit (Eph. 4:30).

How can we feel more gratitude for the holy spirit?

We can feel more gratitude for the holy spirit by reflecting on what it is accomplishing today. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus told his disciples: “You will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you. And they will be my witnesses [...] to the farthest part of the earth ”(Acts 1: 8). These words have been fulfilled in an extraordinary way. With the support of the holy spirit, more than eight and a half million people from all corners of the globe have chosen to serve Jehovah. In addition, we are in a spiritual paradise, since the holy spirit helps us to cultivate beautiful qualities that are part of the "fruit of the spirit", such as love, happiness, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith , mildness and self-control (Gal. 5:22, 23). Without a doubt, the holy spirit is a gift of great value.
