Video of the first conversation (5 mins.): Analysis with the audience. Play the video First Conversation: Suffering (James 1:13). Stop the video at each pause and ask the questions that appear in it.
What would you say to be able to continue the conversation?
First we should know why the person thinks this way, for that we would use a lot of questions, for example, to ask him if he has recently made that decision or from before if he does not believe in God, for this it would not be useful to be able to show some reason or some text with the Bible.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Another option that we could also choose to change the subject is to find a common ground in which both the case manager and the published agree, such as the evil that there is in this world the advice for marriages.
We can continue the conversation by asking a question about why the householder no longer believes in God and after that listen very carefully and be empathic with the person.
How did the publishers show kindness and empathy?
They showed kindness by not reacting in a harsh way, they also showed empathy by trying to put themselves in the other person's shoes.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
They knew that there was something that had caused him to reject God. So they tried to find out what it was and also showed empathy since one of the brothers had also gone through the same thing, so he told him that it was something that he could understand because the family went through something similar.
Listening to the householder and not interrupting until the person had finished expressing himself, after that the other publisher commented that he understood since the householder was not the only person to whom things like this happened.
And they read James 1:13 to him, and the husband of the house answered the question with the Bible and it became more interesting and he managed to understand what the Bible says.
