Congregation Book Study, July 11-17, 2022, Lesson 12, Answers.

Congregation Bible study (30 min.): lff lesson 12.

1. Why is it worth studying the Bible?

The Bible is a very valuable book because it tells what God thinks and what he feels about you. It will not only help you increase your knowledge, it will also help you make good decisions and have hope for the future.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

It is worth it because it helps us to make good decisions and to have hope for the future, it also allows us to have a friendship with Jehovah, because it tells us what God thinks and what he feels for each one of us.

2. Why is it important to recognize the value of biblical truths?

Biblical truths are like precious treasures. If we keep in mind how valuable Bible truths are, we will strive to continue studying even when obstacles arise.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

It is important because only then will we strive more and more to continue studying and learning from the Bible no matter how many difficulties arise.

3. What will Jehovah do for you to keep you studying?

If sometimes you need more motivation to study or to put into practice what you learn, he will help you. And, if you need more strength to overcome any obstacle or opposition from others, he will give it to you.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

As the Bible says, he will give us the desire and strength to continue studying, that is, when we need more motivation to study or apply what we have learned in our lives, he will help us, or if we need strength to overcome a problem, he will give us the necessary forces.

4. Make sure studying the Bible is important to you

Read Philippians 1:10 and discuss the following:

In your opinion, “what things are the most important”?

Studying the Bible and getting to know God more has to be the most important thing for us.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

The most important things are studying the Bible every day, preparing for the meetings, and everything that has to do with our worship of Jehovah.

What can you do to make Bible study a priority for you?

For the Bible to be a priority for us we have to concentrate and take time to study it.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

What I have to do is organize my life in such a way that the most important things come first, and we are given an illustration that is very easy to understand, and that is that if we try to put sand first and then stones in a container, surely these will not go to enter, but if we first place the stones and then the sand, the matter changes, so everything is a matter of ordering our life first with the most important.

Read Matthew 5:3 and discuss the following:

If we make Bible study a priority, how do we benefit?

We benefit because the Bible will bring us closer to God and make us happier.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

We benefit a lot because in this way we are satisfying our spiritual need to know Jehovah and thus we are making way for a better future.

5. Go ahead even if others oppose

Questions after the video, "It was worth moving on":

How did Francesco's family and friends react when he told them what he was learning?

Francesco's mother was not happy and became violent with him, she thought that her son was going crazy, his friends did everything to turn him on the wrong path, they pressured him.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Well this brother comments that his mother was not happy at all and what is more she became very violent, and even his friends thought he was going crazy that they were brainwashing him and did everything to remind him of the strong friendship between them , so he made the drastic decision to distance himself from his friends.

Why was it worth it to keep going?

It was worth it, because thanks to him, his friends were also able to follow him on the right path.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

It was worth it because his firmness aroused the curiosity of each of his friends, because seeing him so determined made them think that it was very evident that the things he told them were true, that it was the truth, so they all became servants of Jehovah and today they are fully happy.

Read 2 Timothy 2:24, 25 and discuss the following:

What do your family and friends think of what you are learning?

There are relatives who will agree and others who will not, but we always have to be kind and know that studying the Bible benefits us and helps us to be good people.

According to these verses, how should you react when someone doesn't want you to study the Bible? Why?

We must be kind, we must control ourselves when we are treated badly and gently teach those who do not have a good attitude.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

We should not get defensive or argue when they treat us badly, but rather we should be very patient, because our good attitude may lead them to want to learn about Jehovah too.

6. Trust that Jehovah will help you

Questions after the video, "Jehovah Helps Us Change":

According to the video, what things did Jim have to change to do what Jehovah asks?

Jim was a very violent man with a bad character, he hung out with bad people, Jim had to change his way of dressing, his friends, his lifestyle, his way of speaking, he made changes as a father, grandfather, husband.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

He had to change a lot of things since he was a violent man with a bad character who liked to start fights, he also said a lot of swear words and went to parties a lot. So he had to completely change his lifestyle, his friends, his way of grooming himself, his clothes and the way he talks about himself.

What impresses you most about your case?

What is most impressive is all the changes he made in his life, for the better, Jehovah believed in him and helped him make those changes in his life.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

What is most impressive is that even the person who may seem like a hopeless case to Jehovah is not like that, because after many years of knowing the truth, Jim decided to take it seriously and make the necessary changes.

Read Hebrews 11:6 and discuss the following:

What will Jehovah do for all “those who earnestly seek him,” that is, those who strive to know and please him?

Jehovah will reward those who make an effort to know him.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Well, the text read says that he will reward them, and we know that he promises us eternal life in paradise.

How do you think Jehovah feels about your efforts to study the Bible?

He feels happy that we strive to know him more and to have faith in him.

WHAT SOME ASK: "And what are you studying the Bible for?"

What would you answer?

We are studying the Bible to be able to know more about God and to know what he is like.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Surely he feels very happy, just like a father feels when his children do their best to obey him.

Review

Why do you value the truths the Bible teaches?

Because all the things that the Bible says are true, and it helps us to know God more.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

I value them very much because they help us to improve our lives, to make better decisions and, above all, to have hope for the future, which is something that we did not have before knowing the truth.

After identifying “what things are most important”, what should you do?

Strive to know God more and not give up.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

I must organize my life in such a way that the study of the Bible is a priority in my life, and therefore, I must not let secondary things take the place that they do not deserve.

Why should you ask Jehovah to help you continue to study the Bible?

To not give up and have the strength to continue reading the Bible.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Because it will not always be easy, that is why we always need your help, and also because if we continue to study the Bible and apply what we learn in it, Jehovah will reward us.
